We are seeking an experienced and talented Executive Pastry Chef to join our team As the head of our pastry department, you will be responsible for leading a team of 9 pastry professionals, overseeing daily operations, and creating innovative and exquisite desserts for our high-end dining establishment. Your expertise in pastry technique, presentation, and management will be essential in driving the success of our pastry program.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 9 pastry professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure exceptional performance and growth
  • Develop and implement creative and visually appealing dessert menus that showcase your culinary expertise and creativity
  • Oversee the daily production of high-volume pastry orders, ensuring timely delivery and presentation of products
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and execute special dessert menus for special occasions, such as weddings and corporate events
  • Source high-quality ingredients and materials for pastry production, negotiating with suppliers when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to maintain profitability while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Participate in menu engineering and pricing decisions
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a pastry chef in a high-end restaurant or boutique bakery
  • Proven track record of success in leading a team of pastry professionals
  • Strong technical skills in pastry production, including cake decorating, sugar work, and chocolate work
  • Excellent presentation skills, with attention to detail and ability to create visually appealing desserts
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Familiarity with high-end grocery operations advantageous

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of pastry ingredients, techniques, and equipment
  • Certification in pastry arts or related field
