Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The A/R Specialist will be responsible for collecting customer open receivables and processing customer payments timely and accurately. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, pro-active self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to work closely with others, prioritize workload, and adapt to a changing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Drive collections through execution of standard work via email and phone communication
- Apply payments according to remittance details provided by customer
- Meet key metrics established for the position and department
- Research and resolve customer deductions, disputes, and issues
- Influence customer to take desired actions to resolve outstanding issues/invoices
- Identify uncollectible amounts and be proactive with potential bad debt exposure
- Set-up and maintain customer accounts
- Identify and collaborate on solutions for billing and AR deficiencies
- Work cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and service as needed
- Participate in system updates and improvements
- Maintain good communication with internal stakeholders to overcome obstacles
- Ad-hoc projects and analyses and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience
- Minimum of 1 years of customer facing experience
- Knowledgeable of credit / collection laws
- Proficient keyboarding / typing skills, Microsoft Outlook
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (vlookups and pivot tables a plus)
- Must have strong organization skills and meet deadlines
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with AS400/PRMS platform a plus
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience in lean environment a plus
