Your role at BHSN:

The Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) will provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, functional analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills.

A LBA will also oversee programming of associate behavior analysts and provide ongoing support and supervision to the Intervention Specialist Team (IST) as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior Support Plans.

What your day might look like:

  • Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of the intervention specialist team.
  • Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching to the multi-disciplinary teams within BHSN and community in conjunction with the EAS Department.
  • Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families.
  • Assist in developing and implementing assessment tools, conducting functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and developing behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Will complete report writing regarding assessment determinations and analyses.
  • Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers and to analyze data frequently and to guide programming.
  • Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all clients with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
  • Provide consultation services and to maintain ongoing communication with all constituents (other support, parents, community, and community agencies).

Your skills and qualifications:

  • LBA in New York State required
  • 1-year supervisory experience preferred 
  • Strong clinical skills required 
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with driving record acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier 
  • Reliable transportation for required travel 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of families
