Your role at BHSN:

The Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment provider I, provides home and community-based behavioral health support services for; children/adolescents and their families. These functions are performed under general supervision and require the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment. This role requires travel throughout Clinton County, NY.

What your day might look like:

  • Provide individual and/or group CPST (Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment) and PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) services, as permitted by credentials, scope of practice, and training, to an assigned caseload in the home of the child/family or community to most effectively support the recovery goal of the child
  • Provide CPST services that deliver evidence-based therapeutic and crisis intervention services to youth with behavioral and emotional challenges. Work with child and their families, using supportive counseling and solution focused interventions, emotional and behavioral management, psychoeducation and problem behavior analysis to help prevent out-of-home placements, psychiatric hospitalizations, and other higher levels of care
  • Provide PSR services (when needed) that deliver a variety of age-appropriate skill building activities and coping skills in the youth’s natural environments
  • Create integrated treatment plans; that include all CFTSS service types, for each child and family to track progress toward treatment plan objectives
  • Provide information and education on CFTSS services to clients, families, other programs or community partners to support informed decision making, and enhance community awareness of program services.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or in related human services, plus one year of applicable experience. Registered Professional Nurses, Licensed Occupational Therapists and Licensed Creative Art therapists with one year of behavioral health experiences and are operating under the scope of their license will also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree social work, psychology, or in related human services and three years applicable experience in children’s mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice or other related human services field and no certification in an Evidenced Based Practice
  • Ability to work with children and families in home and community-based settings and via telehealth
  • Completion of Mandated Reporter training
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier and reliable transportation required for local travel
