Position Overview:
As a Procurement Manager in the automotive industry focusing on seats, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's procurement and purchasing operations. This includes identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of seat components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and purchasing within the automotive industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Purchasing:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of seat components.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish agreements for seat materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the replenishment of stock to meet production demands for automotive seats.
- Sales Support:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and ensure procurement aligns with sales goals and timelines.
- Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to support sales strategies through effective procurement practices.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of procured materials to support customer satisfaction and sales performance.
- Product Development:
- Work closely with product development teams to align procurement activities with new seat designs and innovations.
- Participate in the early stages of product development to optimize costs and ensure the availability of necessary materials.
- Support the launch of new seat products by ensuring procurement processes meet development timelines and specifications.
- Material Cost Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analyses of material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or supplier reliability.
- Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies to optimize material costs.
- Capital Investment:
- Evaluate and manage capital investments for procurement projects, ensuring financial prudence and alignment with company goals.
- Develop and oversee budgets for procurement activities, including cost forecasting and financial planning.
- Make informed decisions on capital investments to support long-term procurement efficiency and sustainability.
- Compliance and Sustainability:
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations, including ethical sourcing and sustainability practices.
- Promote sustainable procurement practices that align with the company’s environmental and social responsibility goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a procurement and purchasing manager, ideally within the automotive industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of procurement software and systems, such as SAP and Vaatz.
- Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management practices, particularly for automotive seats.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings through effective procurement strategies.
