Role Overview:
This procurement team is dedicated to managing supplier relationships for critical components including Major Structures, Composites, Machined and Sheetmetal Parts, as well as Raw Materials across various aircraft programs. The primary focus is to oversee the procurement process from purchase order issuance to the delivery of parts, necessitating strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
Essential Duties:
- Identify and develop supplier sources, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information regarding product specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Request quotes, perform bid assessments, analyze costs, and negotiate delivery schedules to achieve optimal pricing and quality.
- Collaborate with various departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment with their procurement needs.
- Draft and manage purchase orders, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain comprehensive records related to procurement activities, including costs and delivery metrics.
- Address and resolve issues related to purchasing, delivery, and supplier payments, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee contract administration, including negotiation and implementation of changes as required.
- Support the evaluation process for make-or-buy decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in guiding and reviewing the work of Associate Buyers when applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
