Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Parts Lead

Location: Maxwell AFB, AL/Hybrid

Reports to: Rodger Kirkpatrick

Salary: $78,500

Aircraft Maintenance Parts Lead will provide comprehensive oversight of aircraft maintenance, part sourcing, and repair processes for CAP’s extensive fleet of 600+ aircraft, spanning various models such as Cessna, Gippsland, Maule, Schweizer, and Blahnik. Advises customers and senior management, ensuring adherence to maintenance requirements; ensures compliance with CAP regulations, CFR 200, FAA regulations, and local policy. Coordinates maintenance activities and parts sourcing/replacement. Manages vendor contracts, cultivates relationships with multiple aircraft parts suppliers, and exercises fiscal oversight of an annual sustainment budget exceeding $4M for parts and repairs; ensures disciplined and responsible financial administration and execution. Serves as the primary trainer for CAP/LGM personnel. Establishes and maintains key performance indicators and metrics for aircraft maintenance and parts to ensure fleet optimization and increased safety, airworthiness, aircraft availability, and overall mission effectiveness. Utilizes and reviews data from AMRAD, NAVISION, ORMS, and other systems to ensure fleet-wide data accuracy. Tracks and investigates anomalies with manufacturers, vendors, and customers. Manages CAP/LGM Airworthiness Directive and Service Bulletin decision files for consistency and accessibility to prior decisions. Expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives within aircraft maintenance processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of general aviation aircraft parts research, fitment, procurement, and sales and in-depth knowledge of small aircraft parts and service
  • Must have 10 years of aircraft parts experience
  • Minimum of three years of aircraft maintenance management experience
  • Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have MS Access and PowerBI.
  • An associate degree or higher with a focus on aviation maintenance or management is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and produce timely and accurate results
