Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8-10 software engineers.
  • Solution Delivery Ownership: Take full ownership of the delivery of software solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Roadmap Planning: Develop and manage the software development roadmap, aligning it with business objectives and priorities.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Strategic and Tactical Planning: Develop strategic plans for software development initiatives and ensure effective execution through tactical planning and management.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Project Management: Manage complex software projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Over 12 years of experience in developing and managing software solutions, with a proven track record of end-to-end project ownership.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in C#, Python, .NET, Angular.
    • Strong knowledge of databases, including SQL Server, Oracle DB, and No-SQL databases.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and build high-performing teams.
    • Excellent people management skills, including mentoring and team development.
    • Strong strategic and tactical planning abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Industry Experience:
    • Preferably with experience in the Semiconductor Storage Industry, but not a strict requirement for the right candidate.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership and technology management capabilities.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
