Job DescriptionJob Description

The SRS Fingerprint Specialist/Application Assistant works under the Safe Release Program to provide accurate fingerprinting as needed for sponsors of unaccompanied minors to attain family reunification. Provides assistance in completing a variety of immigration applications. This position will report to Program Coordinator or Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts, validates and submits fingerprints electronically per SRS procedural guidelines.
  • Accurately documenting client information and completes intake forms and applications as assigned.
  • Attends and successfully completes all assigned training.
  • Completing assigned tasks accurately and within stated timeframes.
  • Receives phone calls from potential clients and schedules appointments.
  • Conveys essential information to clients on behalf of the program clearly and accurately..
  • Maintaining client records as assigned.
  • Quickly and accurately updating client records in data system(s) as assigned.
  • Performing general office administrative/clerical work (scanning/filing/copying).
  • Provides routine information and assistance on applications for benefits.
  • Manages all administrative responsibilities in the office.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Two years of college required. Education can be substituted with three years of related experience and High School diploma.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of Digital Fingerprinting techniques.
  • Knowledge of IRR internal procedures and processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of community/public resources preferred.
  • Knowledge of general office work and acceptable conduct.
  • Knowledge of Catholic Charities’ policies, procedures, and organization.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Able to translate documents from/to English/Spanish.
  • Effective client service skills.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate and orderly records and files.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and oral form.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Perform data entry work.
  • Type at a speed sufficient to meet position requirements.
  • Scan and photocopy.
  • Operate standard office equipment and a computer.
