Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe CNC and Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating operations in Milling, Lathe and Preset Departments throughout the midnight shift. They will also act as the main point of contact for all midnight shift plant operations and help support safety, immediate production needs, and communication as needed.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (Including but not limited to)

Supervises and directs assigned personnel, including making work assignments, providing training and corrective instruction, and evaluating job performance.

Facilitates the machining of parts required for finished goods in the milling and lathe departments, in reaction to orders placed in the system by the Planning team.

Maintains frequent communication with CNC Manager, Anodizing Manager, and Planning team, receiving and reviewing daily work schedule and discussing and resolving problems.

Communicates regularly with the CNC Manager advising of machine breakdowns, recurring machine or production problems, quality issues, part shortages, discipline issues, or any other situation that may slow down or stop production.

Maintains CNC machine schedules as required per the Production Manager.

Organizes tooling and other items as needed.

Works with other Supervisors and Quality Manager to evaluate and resolve part shortages or quality issues associated with the machining on a timely basis.

Ensures proper operation of machines. Ensures routine maintenance per required schedule is done on time. Adjusts, troubleshoots and repairs machines as needed.

Monitors and ensures proper operation of various machines. Performs routine maintenance and makes minor adjustments on CNC machines as needed.

Maintains orderly work area including organized storage areas for tools fixtures and supplies.

Provides recommendations regarding personnel action, discipline and termination. Completes employee reviews within 30 days of due date.

Advises of outstanding employee performance, which may merit additional employee recognition.

Proactively offers suggestions for the improvement of a product, process or practice.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Acts as the main point of contact for all other operations throughout the facility on assigned shift.

Has a set cadence through the shift to check in with all employees within the facility.


Helps to lead and mentor employees on assigned shift and guides career and personal development through coaching, feedback, and guidance.


REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES


Experience in a machine shop or industrial production. Supervisory experience preferred.

Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of assigned computer programs and codes.

Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of OSHA and company safety precautions and procedures.

Ability to observe read and interpret technical manuals, instruments, gauges and dials.

Ability to physically and safely set-up and operate CNC machines and various industrial equipment and hand tools, including micrometers, wrenches, drill presses, crane and fork lift.

Ability to work with others in a team environment with minimum supervision, and work on several tasks at the same time, often under time pressure.

Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Ability to count, make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions and use practical shop mathematics.


Must be in good standing.




11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, M-F (may work extended hours including evenings/weekends as needed)
