About the Role

The Manufacturing Team Lead, Electrode plays a key role that supports the team in meeting production goals. This position ensures tasks and projects are completed by effectively delegating, overseeing and guiding team members under the direction of the area supervisor or manager. The Manufacturing Team Leader coordinates, develops, and participates in ongoing training and provides necessary training, coaching, and mentoring to Manufacturing Technicians. The Manufacturing Team Leader identifies areas for improving individual and team performance, while working across the organization to foster continuous improvement for long-term success.

What You Will Do
  • Supports department leadership with the day-to-day operations of the team using positive leadership skills.
  • Ensures that team members adhere to product quality standards.
  • Delegates tasks to team members.
  • Ensures team members have the required training to reach goals or accomplish tasks.
  • Maintains the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform each job in assigned area(s).
  • Ensures trainees know all Safety, Quality, and Workability objectives for each job they are training.
  • Verifies trainees know every stage’s function in the process(es) they are training.
  • Creates and distributes reports.
  • Serves as a champion for 5S activities in the department or facility.
  • When not training others or providing Supervisory support, the Manufacturing Team Leader will perform the duties of a Manufacturing Technician listed below:
    • Works in different workstations/rotations as production needs require.
    • Works as a member of various workstations within but not limited to the Electrode Department
    • Works with Mixing, Coating and Converting equipment.
    • Works in a safe manner at all times being aware of potential hazards in the area and safeguarding those hazards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
  • Performs all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
What You Need
  • High school diploma or GED is required. An associate degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum three years of related experience operating web fed coating and converting machinery is preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills.
  • Independent, driven, eager to learn, has strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.
  • Works well in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working and leading a team across cultural and discipline boundaries.
  • Ability to lead and provide direction.
What is “Nice to Have”?
  • Prior manufacturing team leader experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Prior Battery Manufacturing Experience is highly preferred.

Travel

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
