The Manufacturing Team Lead - Assembly plays a key role in supporting the team in meeting production goals. This position ensures tasks and projects are completed by effectively delegating, overseeing, and guiding team members under the direction of the area supervisor or manager.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinates, develops, and participates in ongoing training and provides necessary training, coaching, and mentoring to Manufacturing Technicians.
- Identifies areas for improving individual and team performance, while working across the organization to foster continuous improvement for long-term success.
- Supports department leadership with the day-to-day operations of the team using positive leadership skills.
- Ensures that team members are adhering to all safety and environmental policies & quality standards.
- Delegates tasks to team members.
- Ensures team members have the required training to reach goals or accomplish tasks.
- Maintains the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform each job in assigned area(s).
- Ensures trainees know all Safety, Quality, and Workability objectives for each job they are training.
- Verifies trainees know every stage's function in the process(es) they are training.
- Willingness to train on off shift temporarily per business needs.
- Provides regular support and positive encouragement to keep team members motivated and working toward goals or the completion of tasks/projects.
- Creates and distributes reports.
- Removes roadblocks or obstacles that are preventing the team members from completing their assignments.
- Serves as a champion for 5S activities in the department or facility.
- High school diploma or GED is required. An associate degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of related experience operating highly automated assembly equipment is required.
- Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills.
- Independent, driven, eager to learn, have strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.
- Works well in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working and leading a team across cultural and discipline boundaries.
- Ability to lead and provide direction.
