Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Product to lead our product management team and drive the development and execution of our product strategy. Reporting to the Chief Technology and Product Officer, the Director of Product Management will oversee Alvaria’s Yellowfish platform / product and will directly manage a team of technical product & program managers.

This role will focus on the Yellowfish product to include various platform packaging solutions. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in setting the GTM strategy for SaaS like companies and developing roadmaps for his/her technical product management to execute. You’ll be responsible for all stages of a typical PDLC, especially GTM support and sales enablement, you’ll be involved in contracting, SLA management, managing investments and the P&L associated with our product initiatives. Most importantly, you’ll set and shape the GTM strategy for the edge platform product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities: 

Influencing, leading, and supporting cross-functional teams in the planning, development, and management of our services, including:

  • Understand Alvaria’s strategic and competitive position in order to set an ambitious product strategy that motivates and inspires your team, peers and leadership.
  • Collecting and analyzing market, competitive, and internal data for market trends and insights and customer requests, in collaboration with Sales department and Marketing department teams.
  • Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Define product roadmaps and prioritize initiatives based on market opportunities, customer feedback, and business impact.
  • Building financial models and strategies that factor for COGS and P&L goals in collaboration with Finance department and Operations department teams.
  • Build a product roadmap that will allow the company to reach ARR targets.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product portfolio.
  • Clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels
  • Implement new processes to successfully scale and support the expanded product suite.
  • Determining product messaging in collaboration with Marketing department teams.
  • Managing and scaling a team of product managers, while also contributing as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to enable team members to excel in their roles.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Over 6 years of previous experience as a product manager or product team leader within mid-sized or enterprise companies, with direct responsibility and P&L ownership of product lines.
  • Proven track record of 6+ years in product management roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity overseeing a team of product managers.
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • User centric design, IDEO or other design thinking methodologies.
  • Contracting and contract negotiation experience
  • Experience with PCI/HITRUST and other compliance standards.
  • Previous experience in SaaS products is a plus.
  • Experience managing technically complex products.
  • Previous responsibility for a full PDLC with a demonstration of successful product launches and growth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • An understanding of modern application architecture.
  • Deep understanding of product development workflows, in Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics for day-to-day decision making.
  • Working knowledge of Dev-Ops practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to objectively collect and process feedback from customers and the market, through research, interviews, and other means.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching innovative, customer-focused products that drive business growth and competitive advantage.
  • Deep understanding of agile development methodologies, product management best practices, and emerging technology trends.
  • High degree of comfort presenting to executives, C-suite, or highly technical audiences.
  • Passion for technology and innovation, with a deep understanding of the product lifecycle.
