Job Description:

The Director of Operations – Technology & Product Development will lead the company's efforts in scaling up our manufacturing capabilities and product offerings. In this role, they will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing expansion projects across multiple locations. They will utilize their strong background in engineering, manufacturing, operations, and project management, to successfully develop product offerings and manage large-scale expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for profitable product expansion that aligns around core business markets of Renewable Energy, Storage, High Voltage, and electronics. These must align with company goals and market demands.
  • Develop and lead the establishment of manufacturing processes and systems for products being developed.
  • Identify and evaluate existing and new locations for manufacturing Evaluate their feasibility for supporting the business needs in location efficiency, transportation, tax efficiency, cost and labor force.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, estimating, finance, and legal to ensure seamless execution of expansion projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet objectives.
  • Oversee the construction and startup phases of new facilities.
  • Implement best and practices and lean processes into the manufacturing process to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate and report to senior management to provide regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the expansion process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on expansion and project management.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results in a fast- paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors and contractors.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Previous experience with international manufacturing expansions is a plus.
