Job purpose

The Sales Representative role is responsible for utilizing their knowledge of Sonwil’s services to identify and secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the warehousing/3PL industry and the partners we’re looking to service (e.g., food, ingredients, packaging, manufacturers). The position will include developing sales pitches to sell Sonwil’s services, making cold calls to sales leads, or taking calls from prospective customers and maintaining documentation of these contacts. This person will also be responsible for networking and building relationships within the Buffalo business community.

The position will be officed in Buffalo with travel expectations as necessary to achieve duties, goals, and responsibilities.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Building Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers and prospective clients to understand their needs and promote Sonwil’s services.
  • Service Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of warehousing and the extra services Sonwil can provide (fulfillment, value-added services, high quality standards, KPI reporting) to effectively communicate these features, advantages, and benefits to customers who partner with Sonwil.
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential customers, highlighting the value proposition of the company's offerings and addressing any concerns or objections they may have.
  • Negotiation and Closing Deals: Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements to maximize profitability while satisfying the needs of both the customer and the company. Close sales and achieve revenue targets.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about Warehousing/3PL industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Keep accurate records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and deals closed in database of customer interactions (CRM). Provide regular reports on sales performance and forecasts to management.
  • Customer Service: Provide ongoing support to customers, addressing any issues or concerns they may have post-sale to ensure satisfaction and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as marketing, operations, and account management to coordinate efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on warehousing practices, sales techniques, and industry best practices through training programs, workshops, and self-study to continuously improve sales performance.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Actively participate in weekly sales meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of B2B solutions sales experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding and experience utilizing Hubspot or a similar CRM tool
  • Active experience with customer relations
  • Critical thinker, sees the “big picture” and can identify and develop business & personnel opportunities.
  • The ability to successfully collaborate with his/her management peers.
  • Thrives in an environment rooted in total accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Superior service delivery
  • On-site presence is required, no remote work

Safety Requirements

  • Must abide by safety standards as specified by each facility/site.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and bend as needed.
  • Ability to travel
