- Reviewing General Ledger details to ensure proper posting of expense and revenue entries and making adjustments
- Preparing monthly accounting entries for prepaids, depreciation and amortization, and interest expense
- Maintaining fixed assets records and determining useful lives and proper methods for book and tax
- Reconciling bank accounts and making entries for transfers, electronic payments, bank fees, and debt payments
- Reconciling AR and AP month end details to the general ledger and adjusting any discrepancies
- Preparing financials and verifying proper accounting for each department
- Analyzing and comparing financial data to history and industry standards
- Keeping current with financial policies, regulations, and legislation affecting the enterprise
- Four-year Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Advanced Excel skills, ability to grasp accounting systems and software, and experience with project-based accounting software preferred
- Ability to read, compare, and interpret figures and data with strong attention to detail
- Ability to present complex financial information clearly and accessibly.
