Production Engineer develops process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production.  Production Engineer must have experience and knowledge of computer system integration, quality control of production to improve efficiency, identify, eliminate waste and reduce costs.  This position requires good oral and written communication skills to explain complex processes to workers and managers. The engineer must have the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Good communication requires the production engineer to listen carefully to workers, management, customers and material vendors.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

 

To leverage expertise in process optimization, computer system integration, and quality control within production environments, aiming to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize costs. This entails effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating seamless collaboration across teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize production output.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Plan, design, set-up, modify, optimize and monitor production processes.
  • Assist Program Managers and Engineering team to fulfill daily scheduled orders.
  • Manage operating procedures, equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Establish, implement and monitor programs that evaluate operations equipment and tools for maintenance reliability and accuracy.
  • Evaluates production capabilities and recommends improvements.
  • Design new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
  • Work with System Engineers, PM and Sales to ensure customer special working instructions are accurate, practical and efficient.
  • Manage and maintain all standard & custom OS images and instructions as well as customer images.
  • Manage and maintain all working instructions and set “standards”, “rules” and help notes
  • Work with related engineers or technicians to troubleshoot and repair problematic products.
  • Availability to all manufacturing personnel to provide technical answers and solve production emergencies.
  • Manage facility maintenance and regulatory compliance issues including fire, safety and hazardous material concerns
  • Provide technical training for operations, sales and clients.
  • Perform special projects as requested by supervisors.
  • Must adhere to Quality Management System.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:                                                                                                

 

  • Bachelor or Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics Engineering; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • A+ Certification is recommended and the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows embedded, XP, 7, 8, 10 and Linux System Installation, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Good (English) oral and written communication skill is a must. Preferably with bilingual Mandarin-Chinese.  
  • Experience in management and team leadership is a plus.
