Position Overview
The Process Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing product scale-up and commercialization initiatives. Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, the individual must effectively manage the following responsibilities:
  • Conduct process monitoring and machinery capability assessments.
  • Create, revise, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Instructions (JIs) as necessary.
  • Provide training to operators, leads, supervisors, and other staff on new equipment, JIs, and SOPs.
  • Lead production troubleshooting efforts, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Drive continuous product and process improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate and develop innovative proprietary solutions for cost savings.
  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Design of Experiments (DOE) activities.
  • Review formulations, Master Batch Records (MBR), batch documentation, protocols, and change controls to verify capability and capacity.
  • Generate Process Qualification Protocols (PQs) and execute Process Qualifications.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Engineering teams during equipment selection processes.
  • Perform Installation Qualifications (IQ) and Operational Qualifications (OQ) as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all projects and assignments.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and operate in a safe manner.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in developing formulation/process models and addressing complex challenges.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards, including GMP, SOPs, and OSHA regulations.
  • Proactive leadership abilities, including team-building, problem-solving, training, and coaching.
  • Understanding of nutritional ingredients, product formulations, and their claims.
  • Competence in interpreting scientific and technical literature and presenting findings in practical reports.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, regulatory, supply chain, and business implications related to formulation decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and typing skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Ability to adapt to workplace changes and new responsibilities.
  • Represent the company positively and professionally at all times.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in an engineering role within an industrial environment. Project management experience is highly desirable.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including employees, management, and compliance personnel. The role involves regular use of telecommunication and computer systems, along with physical activities such as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The employee may also be exposed to moderate to high noise levels and must adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment when necessary. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and allergens, requiring compliance with safety precautions.
