Position Summary: As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be an integral part of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Production Manager. Your collaboration will extend across Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Project Management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and establish manufacturing sequences and processes, while creating necessary tooling and test fixtures for the completion of all deliverable program hardware.
  • Provide continuous floor support and coordinate efforts to enhance producibility and foster ongoing process and product improvements, serving as a Subject Matter Expert in various process areas.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, performance specifications, and supplier component specifications to extract and develop manufacturing concepts that align with customer and company requirements.
  • Engage in concurrent engineering design activities to ensure manufacturability during the production phase.
  • Identify critical processes for trend analysis, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and enhancing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Facilitate the Material Review Board (MRB) efforts to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create assembly instructions for our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Formulate manufacturing processes with defined metrics aimed at Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to minimize costs and waste.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to implement Design For Assembly (DFA) concepts, participate in technical reviews, support First Article production, and develop initial assembly work instructions for new products.
  • Advise engineering teams on design concepts and specifications to optimize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in investigating failures and defects, supporting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in designing or building electro-mechanical assemblies within an ISO 9001 or AS9100 production environment.
  • Management and leadership experience collaborating with diverse disciplines to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experience in setting up production environments for various models to optimize efficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and operational procedures.
  • Proficiency in creating assembly and test documentation for assigned products.
  • Familiarity with producibility engineering/DFA in an electro-mechanical context.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Deltek Costpoint ERP, PTC Windchill PLM, and iBase-t SoluminaTM MES.
  • CAD proficiency, preferably with Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks.
  • Experience in using a Manufacturing Execution System/MES, with a preference for Solumina.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs for production teams.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $124,550. This range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Various factors are considered in extending an offer, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
