We are looking for a Barista/Bar Back to join us at our Carson City Location. Pay starts at $12.25 an hour. Tips range anywhere from $5-8 per hour, with an effective pay range of $17.25-$20.00 per hour. (Tips are not guaranteed). We have a passport for progression within our growing company. 


Weekend availability is required Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting each guest warmly and genuinely 
  • Looking for opportunities to serve and make our guest's day
  • Register Operation and Cash Handling 
  • Bussing, Cleaning, and refilling low bar stocks to keep an organized and clean cafe.
  • Keeping work areas clean and presentable to guests
  • Adhering to Old World Coffee Roasters Handbook and operational procedures
  • Completing all opening and closing responsibilities to OWCR expectations 
  • Memorizing and embodying OWCR Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles
  • Work independently as a barista
  • Prepare drinks for customers
  • Ensuring all products served are to OWCR standards and expectations 
  • Go through OWCR Training for Barista skills

Qualifications

  • Outgoing and engaging personality
  • Proactive at identifying and completing work needs
  • Ability to assess station needs and act accordingly
  • Great spoken and written communication
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts on Sundays, Mondays, and Saturdays. Compensation is $17.25 - $20.00/hour.

About Old World Coffee Lab: Old World Coffee Lab is a specialty coffee roaster with cafes in Reno and Carson City, Nevada. We are dedicated to the pursuit of quality in all things coffee. This means we make sure to source high quality coffees that are grown and processed in ways that ensure quality. At our roastery we seek to roast coffees in a way that respects and highlights work put into them during growing and processing. Our shop is the final step. Here we get to display all that quality and hard work across many different brew methods and beverages. This can be anything from a precision, hand-brewed coffee to using the coffee as a primary ingredient in one of our specialty drinks. If you can't tell, we love coffee, our hope is that you'll join us in our pursuit. There will be a lot of delicious drinks along the way.
