Position Details:

MedElite is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of payroll processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll for our diverse workforce, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also play a crucial role in maintaining accurate employee records, responding to payroll inquiries, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, and other special payments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including changes in status, tax withholding, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data integrity.
  • Administer employee benefits related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of benefits information.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and ensure payroll tax compliance.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings in a timely manner.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in resolving payroll-related issues and discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
