Summary of Position

The Manager of Data Analytics is a full-time position that oversees the development and implementation of processes to ensure high quality analytics supporting business goals. This role combines expertise in data analytics and business, fostering effective communication and relationships. Responsibilities include managing daily analytics operations, ensuring timely and secure data flow within and outside the organization. This role also involves leading and developing a proficient data analytics team, demonstrating integrity, and maintaining confidentiality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Develops and optimizes processes and workflow for department

  • Prioritizes assignments across team to ensure standard work assignments are produced timely including worklists for staff, practice reporting including weekly prospective, monthly reports, and incentive reporting, and timely feeds are sent to vendors. Utilizes additional bandwidth to manage project work accounting for staffing factors including staff availability and expertise.

Validates team's work and own work to ensure accurate and reliable data outputs

  • Oversight for the quality and completeness of internal and external data sources such as physician roster, internal databases, payer claims and reports

Demonstrates organizational management and time management.

  • Creates agendas and oversees owned meetings.
  • Manages staff time off requests to meet needs of department and manages payroll reporting.
  • Manages onboarding/orientation and annual performance evaluations.

Serves as Data Analytics subject matter expert

  • Manages training of new hires and updated training to staff which may include in services, webinars, recordings, etc. from outside departments, payers, and other relevant resources. Also includes training on new processes, resources, and other necessary tools.
  • Stays current on data changes impacting service lines, vendors, and practice reporting.
  • Considered trusted resource across service lines for data reporting. Develops staff members to be subject matter experts on data pertaining to service lines and company needs.

Supports performance improvement and customer service

  • Provides leadership with data via available tools such as vendor reporting, payer reporting, Power BI, and practice reports to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Train and develop Analytics team members to support service line in identifying data trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside support departments, payers, and vendors.
  • Facilitates data requests including understanding scope of request, providing accurate and reasonable timeline for completion, and informing customer on any barriers to timely and accurate completion.

HIPAA Compliance

  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follows company policies regarding HIPAA, privacy, encryption, and IT security and supports staff to do the same.
  • Creates and enforces efficient and secure policies and procedures for data handling.
Requirements:

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years management experience leading an analytics team with ability to create project timelines, delegate, and manage team assignments.
  • 5 years of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating, and drawing insights from data required; Healthcare industry a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in analytics, computer science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with project management and vendor product integration.
  • Experience partnering with various stakeholders and internal/external customers.
  • Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
  • Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes.
  • Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and databases.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities with high attention to accuracy.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people, and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with strong written and verbal communications skills.
