Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Media Operations Specialist to join our team in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. This role is a hybrid position that blends broadcast engineering, information technology, and digital media. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Film/TV, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Digital New Media and a deep understanding of the digital supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope, build, launch, and support workflows for content ingest, transcode, and fulfillment across the digital supply chain.
  • Handle partner onboarding and provide operational and technical support for the Media Operations & Technology team.
  • Manage content ingest, preparation, QC, and international delivery while resolving or escalating issues through electronic communication, phone, and in-person.
  • Provide operations and customer support for applications and products used in file-based digital workflows, including video editing, transcoding, digital file delivery, and live streaming.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and roll-out of additional projects requiring cross-team alignment.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital supply chain, broadcast operations, or a post-production environment.
  • 3+ years in a support or customer-facing role within a media-based company.
  • Proficiency with post-production software such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.
  • Experience with digital media file types and encoding workflows (e.g., QT, MXF, MPG, MP4).
  • Familiarity with file encoders like Vantage, Adobe Media Encoder, and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of metadata file types (.xml, .json, .csv) and experience in metadata schema creation/manipulation using JavaScript or other scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of desktop hardware, software applications, MAC/PC OS, and network connectivity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and escalation skills.
  • Experience with file transcode software like Vantage or cloud-based solutions like AWS Elemental MediaConvert.
  • Familiarity with digital delivery methods such as AWS, Aspera P2P/Faspex, Signiant, etc.
  • Experience with QC software like GrayMeta Iris, Switch, VLC, etc.
  • Knowledge of MacCaption for closed caption creation, editing, and converting.
  • Ability to support customer workflows through operations teams or help desks.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to make effective decisions in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with multiple departments, clients, and vendors.
