As the Patient Accounts Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing information from admissions and preparing system updates, gather, enter or confirm insurance charges and diagnosis codes within the system, send bills electronically or via paper as required and follow up on claims submitted with the payers. Reverification of benefits, processing cash or credit card payments and identifying balances. The Patient Accounts Specialist will also run and review Aged Trial Balance (ATB) every two weeks, following departmental billing protocols along with reviewing pending Medicaid accounts. Other office duties such as general filing, handling phone calls from patients, staff and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries and financial information and assisting patients with insurance questions or financial arrangements.Requirements:

High school or GED with a minimum of 2 years A/R or billing experience, or Associates Degree in related field preferred with 1-year related experience. Experience with Microsoft Office platform including Excel and Word. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of numbers and decimals.
