Job Title: Teacher for Visually Impaired (TVI)

Location: Federal Way, WA

Position Type: Full-Time (Contract)

Contract Duration: September 3, 2024 – June 17, 2025


Job Description:
As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you will be responsible for developing and delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments. You will work closely with students, families, and educational staff to create an accessible and supportive learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) that address students' specific needs and goals.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate assistive technologies and adaptive materials.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic growth.
- Advocate for students’ needs and facilitate their access to educational resources and opportunities.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of educational strategies.

 

Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Previous experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff.
