Rights Information SpecialistPosition Summary: Seeking a Rights Information Specialist for an upcoming project set to begin on October 1st, with an anticipated duration of 8 months. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, offering the flexibility of 100% remote work.
Responsibilities:
  • Review contracts for required metadata and enter into corresponding templates.
  • Review contracts to effectively locate, identify, and catalog metadata such as dates, financial values, deal types, royalty and licensing rates, and global territories/countries.
  • Fulfill each contract description and follow available SOP, resources, workflow documentation. Raise questions, exercise judgement or provide feedback to internal Project Coordinator.
  • Support client inquiries and requests via phone, online, email, admin support/chat or interpersonal communications.
  • May include migration of contracts or metadata templates that require accurate and consistent adherence to naming conventions and format specification.
  • Use of client specific software such as cloud services, web services, API.
  • Ability to take direction from internal team lead, and track completion metrics. Follow and complete project quota, goals and milestones as assigned.
  • Assign metadata and summarize contract, content and territorial rights for new contracts or contract amendments in migration spreadsheets.
Skills and Experience:
  • Data entry through research from a variety of sources.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Fluent use of Microsoft tools including Excel, TEAMS, Word.
  • Experience or interest in Media & Entertainment industries a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and on virtual teams.
  • Experience with software-as-a-system (SAAS) applications and/or rights information management systems a plus.
  • Personable and effective professional communication indirectly with clients and direct internal team members via email, phone and virtual meeting apps including Teams, Zoom.
  • Ability to meet time management goals and task deadlines accurately maintaining daily metrics.
  • Flexibility within schedule to accommodate deadlines, time zone differential or client needs.
  • Familiarity with IPR, content licensing, royalty metrics, publishing, development, production, distribution; especially SVOD, AVOD, TVOD, FAST and linear broadcast terms Not required but helpful.
