Position Summary:
This is highly skilled manufacturing position requiring industrial mechanical, preventative maintenance, and electrical experience for the maintenance and repair of high volume packaging and processing equipment. This role also entails the maintenance and building of conveyors, blowers, sifters, blenders, burners, and grinders, and includes labelers/ink-jet printing equipment, vacuum and hydraulic pumps, forklifts, and air compressors.
The person in this role will work independently applying mechanical and electrical resolution in the repair, overhaul, and re-manufacturing of plant equipment, which includes root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
Job Duties:
• Inspect, repair, and perform overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, transport conveyor systems, and rotating, cutting, and grinding equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair, and conduct performance testing of production machinery
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, electromechanical drives, and sub-electrical panels utilizing volt and amp meters
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments to determine working clearances on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components
• Identify proper materials required for repairs such as how to measure belts, chain, and fasteners and fill out order forms as required
• Perform machine shop duties such as general metal fabrication, welding, and machining
• establish work orders and requisition/order parts
• Requisition shop supplies and equipment such as replacement parts, hardware, lubricants, tools, testing instruments
• Provide technical input to write and maintain standard operating procedures and job safety analysts
• Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
• Perform related work as assigned or required
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Basic mechanical and electrical skills within a manufacturing or industrial environment required
• Must have acquired vocational/technical certifications, hands-on training or completion of apprenticeship program(s) and/or completed military training programs with work-related experience
• Associate Degree or 1-2 years of experience desired
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required; high school diploma or equivalent work experience
• Must have excellent communication skills--both verbally and written
• Demonstrated ability to identify basic mechanical and electrical parts
• Proven ability to perform basic computer applications such as Word and Outlook
• Proof of previous fork truck driving experience a plus
Food Safety Requirements and Responsibilities:
• Must comply with all Federal, State, Corporate, Warehouse and Food Safety standards, policies, and guidelines (i.e. HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, etc.)
Physical Demands:
• Must be willing and able to frequently lift 25 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
