JOB DESCRIPTION
Who we are:
Westwood Country Club is a premier family-oriented athletic club located in central Austin that provides a variety of quality services and activities for the recreation and dining needs of members.
What we are looking for:
Westwood is seeking a Full Time Counter Server with barista experience and a passion for the guest experience. Someone with an ability to work positively and collaboratively to achieve the highest standards. A natural host that can make guests feel at home.
Position Summary:
Greets members and guests and responsible for food and beverage services at Court 7 Grill. Must maintain a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring compliance with all local and state health codes. Interact professionally with all members and staff and take direction from the Court 7 Grill Managers and Assistant Managers. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.
Compensation $16.50 per hour
Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*
- Take members / guest orders using correct members names / numbers / sub-numbers using the point-of-sale system
- Prepare coffees, smoothies and alcoholic beverages
- Serve food and beverages to members / guests, delivering food items to the tables in and outside
- Restock food and beverage products and small wares required for item preparation; operate food production equipment according to managers’ and manufacturers’ instruction
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
- Observe relevant health and safety standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- Interests in coffee program, must be passionate about coffee
- Active TABC and Food Handlers’ certification required
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience preferred
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Physical Demands:
This position requires standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding/carrying, twisting/turning, reaching, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds regularly. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
