Description

Manana is hiring a Lead Barista

A neighborhood coffee and bakeshop located at South Congress Hotel. Maana features a curated menu of specialty coffee drinks, seasonal paletas, ice creams, grab n' go items, and a rotating menu of house-made pastries and snacks

JOB SUMMARY

Cafe service at New Waterloo combines great hospitality with technical skills and warm personalities to create a welcoming environment. The Lead Barista will assist the Outlet Manager with ordering goods, maintaining monthly inventory, creating drink specials, and developing the team. The Lead Barista must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction.
  • Train team members on preparation methods, quality controls, presentation standards, and product knowledge.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new employees
  • Assist in the development and implementation of specialty drinks
  • Assist with the ordering of goods
  • Follow inventory standards and procedures to conduct an accurate inventory consistently.
  • Ensure staff understands their job requirements and sufficient training; communicate team member areas of opportunity to the outlet manager.
  • Maintain products attractively and functionally to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Promote and encourage guest name recognition.
  • Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns and apply corrective measures when necessary.
  • Adhere to state liquor laws and regulations; verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain high cleanliness in all areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition and report all equipment problems to management.
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety, emergency procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the outlet as directed by the outlet manager.
  • Attend relevant meetings as directed.
