Project Accountant Job Description


Environmental Construction Services is looking for a Project Accountant to help with the day to day accounting duties of a mid-sized construction company.  The position reports directly to the company’s controller and will provide an excellent learning environment for a motivated, ambitious and hard-working individual.  This position will require an ambitious and motivated individual that has excellent computer and accounting skills.  The company will be implementing ProCore throughout its various business units and this position will be responsible for its implementation and integration with Foundation Accounting Software and QuickBooks.


Project Accountant responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Assisting with integration with Foundation and QuickBooks
  • Managing budgets, change orders, invoices, etc.
  • Preparing bank deposits; reconciling bank activity
  • Posting accounts receivable transactions
  • Supporting accounts payable, including expense report processing
  • Assisting with union remittances
  • Answering customer inquiries regarding payments and commissions
  • Assisting with the month end financial close
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting the Controller with special projects as needed


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or at least 3 years’ accounting experience 
  • Familiarity with working in a multi-company environment
  • Proficient with QuickBooks.
  • Familiarity with Foundation.
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Project Management software (Procore, preferred).
