Dental Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at Project HOME. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, including preparing instruments, mixing materials, and taking radiographs.
  • Provide patient education and support, including explaining treatment options and after-care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical and dental histories.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming study casts.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment by communicating effectively and working collaboratively with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Current Radiology certificate
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrate teamwork, empathy, flexibility, sound judgment, patience, integrity, and organization in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, safety, dependability, listening, and communication skills
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and take a trauma-informed and harm-reduction approach to health care
  • Competency in the use of Electronic Health Records and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA
  • Experience in a clinical environment
