Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst is an integral part of Safeguard Medical’s global management reporting team, developing the framework for data consolidation, transformation, and analysis. This architecture combines data from a number of disparate systems into a single source of truth for sales, financial, and operational performance metrics.

This position works closely with key decision makers across all functions and global locations to develop analytical perspectives and meet requirements for critical information. The ideal candidate will combine a technical background in Business Intelligence with superb analytical skills, solid business acumen, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a desire to create order out of complexity.


This position is on-site in our Huntersville, NC or Twin Cities, MN locations.


Essential Job Functions

  • Manage Safeguard’s corporate data lake and inflow of connected data sources.
  • Define standards for data definition and labeling to ensure consistent analytical criteria.
  • Create standard reporting to support corporate decision making.
  • Curate standard data cubes/marts/models to enable standardized and easy-to-use self-service analysis.
  • Perform complex analyses, analyze trends, and identify and present meaningful insights.
  • Train decision makers and analysts on reporting tools and methods.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to data platform architecture.
  • Implement process to prioritize reporting and analysis requests.



Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Data Science, or related field.
  • Five years of data analyst experience, including demonstrated proficiency in statistics, research methods, and big data analysis.
  • Five years of experience with modern database and data analysis tools (PowerBI, SQL Server, Prophix preferred).
  • Three years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems in a global manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cloud-based data lake and data warehouse environments (Azure preferred).
  • Demonstrated familiarity with data extract/transform/load tools (DataBricks preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including documentation and training delivery.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to partner effectively with team members at all levels and across all functions within the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a small team environment, while still able to self-motivate and work independently when necessary.
  • English language fluency required.
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or similar methods a plus.

Physical Requirements

Performing the duties of this job regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, hearing/listening. Vision requirements include the ability for close vision, to adjust focus, to color code. Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

Mental Requirements

This position requires the ability to maintain an appropriate work pace, comprehend and follow instructions, exercise logic and reasoning, read, communicate verbally and in writing, make decisions, count and compute, multi-task/re-direct, and experience numerous interruptions. This position requires the ability to maintain the highest standards of professional maturity and emotional intelligence even in difficult or stressful situations.

The Team member must be trained in all the documents, procedures, software applications, and topics listed in the Training Matrix. Additional training requirements may be added as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
