This mortgage sales and leadership role earns a base salary plus commission based on mortgage volume, expertise, and number of direct reports. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGIONAL MORTGAGE SALES MANAGER

  • Works with President, Traditions Mortgage on all aspects of the team, including staff and customer issues, products and policies, forecasting, budgeting, operations, and administration.
  • Recruits qualified Mortgage Partners through employing traditional sourcing strategies as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.
  • Uses interpersonal and communication skills to generate referral business, leads, and relationships with individuals, existing clients, past clients, and real estate professionals.
  • Participates in business development activities outside the office, such as realtor open houses and homebuyer seminars.
  • Generates annual production volumes established at the beginning of each year.
  • Prepares and completes loan applications; originating applications with point of sales technology.
  • Analyzes and prequalifies applicant information to determine viability of the client's desired loan program.
  • Researches credit, analyzes credit, and compares for accuracy with the mortgage borrower's statements.
  • Processes loans through automated underwriting system.
  • Provides direct input to President, Traditions Mortgage, in all hiring, firing, and promotion decisions.
  • Gathers all initial documentation required based upon the selected program and AUS feedback.
  • Discloses loan in accordance with state and federal regulations, including providing a GFE, TIL, Servicing Disclosure, etc.
  • Provides the completed loan package to the loan processor.
  • May provide supervision and work flow processes to the Mortgage Loan Assistant.
  • Works with the loan processor to provide any additional documentation as necessary and required by underwriting to clear all conditions and close each loan.
  • Participates in community organizations and activities.
  • Builds brand awareness by providing exquisite and responsive customer service.
  • Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the origination team.
  • Trains and supports team in the areas of product knowledge, mortgage process, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Creates an aggressive, customer-focused sales culture that balances accountability for results while doing business in accordance with the bank's core values.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A REGIONAL MORTGAGE SALES MANAGER

  • Four-year college degree or minimum five+ years' experience originating residential mortgage loans.
  • Must currently have or be able to secure and maintain a registration ID number with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
  • Two plus years of management or supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to interpret and understand residential loan documentation.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and loan accounting systems.
  • Understanding of various Mortgage Products, including Conventional, FHA, VA, RHS and PHFA.
  • Ability to utilize independent judgment and decision making in exercising duties mentioned above and to direct the work of other team members.
  • Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills.
  • Public speaking skills with the ability to make presentations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
  • Responsible for understanding the bank's compliance policies as it relates to the specific individual job duties and following the provisions of such policies, specifically understanding that any violation of such policies must be reported to the Director of Regulatory Services immediately.
