The Position:

The Integrated Assets Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in the financial management and success of the company's retail and mixed-use commercial/residential assets. This position is responsible for supervising and managing month end close and compliance for the division entities and supporting the development of staff. The Integrated Assets Accounting Manager collaborates with internal and external accounting and finance teams, internal management teams including operational staff, and 3rd party managers to drive financial efficiency, compliance, and profitability throughout the fiscal year. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams to achieve the company's goals and maximize financial performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the staff and assist in conducting quarterly EOS performance evaluations.
  • Drive and hold team accountable to the month end and quarter end close process for the Integrated assets accounting team to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Oversee preparation, review, and issuance of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for Integrated Assets entities.
  • Monitor debt compliance obligations for Integrated Assets entities.
  • Review of monthly other assets division check runs, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Coordinate with accounting management to drive Integrated Assets team system implementations for cash flow management and financial reporting. (ie Trovata, EOS, project costing software, transitions to 3rd party management, ERP implementation).
  • Review of externally managed entities books and assisting Controller in coordination with externally managed assets to ensure that third parties are keeping accurate books for reporting purposes.
  • Oversee the Integrated Assets project and job costing system and presentation to ensure that management has accurate information on cost tracking and loan tracking information to drive decisions.
  • Assist with developing and drafting division wide accounting policies, procedures, and training documents.
  • Assist with monitoring & managing cash flow expectations for Integrated Assets entities.
  • Assist with annual property tax payments (compilation and review of property tax bills and analysis), franchise tax payments, and income tax entries, and trial balance prep for third party tax advisor review, and cost seg studies for depreciation.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and quarterly reforecast.
  • Performs other projects and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least 3‐5 years of related experience required.
  • Public accounting (audit preferred) experience or a minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial/Industrial real estate.
  • Proficiency with an ERP accounting environment and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Working knowledge of accounting (accruals, project costing, fixed assets, forensic accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, schedules).
  • Exposure to process and procedure building/implementation is a plus.
