The Web Accessibility Specialist collaborates with stakeholders regarding accessibility concerns within digital products with a focus on the development of improved digital experiences.


Basic Services - The Contractors shall serve as Senior Program Analyst by providing support to Government employees and service to other assigned work units in IOD. The service can focus on a single or a variety of job functions with varying degrees of independence within IOD.


This position shall support a variety of general program/administrative management and technical support duties, including, but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Ability to remediate .pdf documents for 508 compliance.
  • Identifies and resolves accessibility barriers to provide accessible instructional material and websites.
  • Supports real-time and post-production captioning services to provide accessibility.
  • Evaluates the accessibility of instructional technology devices and software and makes recommendations concerning best practices.
  • Conducts accessibility testing against WCAG 2.0 (A, AA) success criteria and federal requirements.
  • Follows accessibility related standards and laws, including WCAG, ADA Section 508 and WAI-ARIA. Performs other related or similar duties as required or assigned. Essential Functions
  • Determines appropriate tools, information, resources, and training needed to resolve technical and instructional accessibility barriers.
  • Participates in planning and developing administrative and program activities.
  • Reviews records and data for accuracy, reconciles differences, and works with other staff and university offices to identify errors and make corrections.
  • Compiles data and prepares reports used to monitor or assess department activities, programs, and services or project future needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and modification of complex filing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Maintains records and prepares necessary reports.
  • Prepares work for data processing and maintain working files and production records
  • Managing internal and client communications and maintaining program knowledge management / tracking

  • Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Excellent organizational skills with focus on accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • 95% telecommute position with the exception of some travel related to annual meetings, acquisitions, conferences, and other events including customer requests.
