The Web Accessibility Specialist collaborates with stakeholders regarding accessibility concerns within digital products with a focus on the development of improved digital experiences.

  • Ability to remediate .pdf documents for 508 compliance.
  • Identifies and resolves accessibility barriers to provide accessible instructional material and websites.
  • Supports real-time and post-production captioning services to provide accessibility.
  • Evaluates the accessibility of instructional technology devices and software and makes recommendations concerning best practices.
  • Conducts accessibility testing against WCAG 2.0 (A, AA) success criteria and federal requirements.
  • Follows accessibility related standards and laws, including WCAG, ADA Section 508 and WAI-ARIA. Performs other related or similar duties as required or assigned. Essential Functions
  • Determines appropriate tools, information, resources, and training needed to resolve technical and instructional accessibility barriers.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • 95% telecommute position with the exception of some travel related to annual meetings, acquisitions, conferences, and other events including customer requests.
