Job Overview

Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

With 686 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. We are currently seeking a part time Assistant Swim Coach, for middle and high school, at our upper campus. The individual in this position must have availability Monday to Friday from 7am to 8am and occasional weekends during swim season.

Job duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist the Head Coach in organizing and planning in-season and off-season training
  • Assist the Head Coach with scheduling and team management
  • Supervise players and volunteers at all team events (games, practices, road trips, meetings, etc.)
  • Provide basic medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries
  • Maintain current First Aid/CPR certification

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in physical education or related area
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years coaching experience at an Assistant level
  • Experience swimming at the high school level or above preferred
  • Teaching certificate a plus, but not required
  • Possess a superior knowledge of swim including, but not limited to, knowledge of training and conditioning techniques and the ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities
