Position Overview

The June Shelton School and Evaluation Center is dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities for students with learning differences. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning styles.

We are currently seeking a Assistant Women's Soccer Coach to join our athletic program. This role is integral to our middle school soccer team, which competes in a competitive league.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing training objectives and guidelines for the middle school soccer team.
  • Managing all administrative aspects of the team.
  • Executing various activities that align with the goals of the sport and the mission of our institution.

This role is part-time and operates on a stipend basis. The soccer season typically spans several months, with a schedule influenced by practice times and team events. Attendance at off-campus athletic events is a requirement.

Additional expectations include:

  • Prior experience in a coaching role, preferably at the middle school level or higher.
  • Ability to mentor and connect with students, particularly adolescents.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Patience and creativity in engaging with students who learn differently.
  • Willingness to pursue further training to enhance skills in working with diverse learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with various coaching methodologies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
