Job Summary:

Assists with the efficient operation of each manufacturing facility by designing and building new automation and ensuring that all automation is operational. This includes assisting with the design, overseeing the installation, and completing the qualification of all new automation.

Knowledge | Experience | Skills:

BS in engineering or combination of education skills and experience. Minimum of 5 years of direct experience as an Automation Engineer or comparable position. Advanced knowledge of machining, part design, CAD, Injection Molding and manufacturing operations. Good communication and Interpersonal Skills. Advance Computer and control systems knowledge required. Overall good mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design of automation.
• Responsible for supporting automation projects for all TM locations globally as required
• Travel requirement may be up to 30% per year, including international travel.
• Interface with customers and vendors on new projects and represent TM as technical lead for automation.
• Qualify new automation vendors globally.
• Maintains and improves all existing automation machines in the division.
• Coordinates automation activities with outside suppliers.
• Approves designs of new automation machines.
• Manages construction time schedules to meet the production schedule needs on new automation machines.
• Responsible for procurement of purchase components from vendors.
• Assists in production start-ups as related to automation machines
• Assists with the troubleshooting of new and existing automation machines.
• Participates with each division’s continual improvement of automation machines.
• Assists other divisions with various automation projects as needed.
• Maintain General Delivery Specifications for equipment.
• Develop specific specifications for individual projects.
• Work independently with customer and vendors in any situation
