BHITC seeks an experienced marketing and communications professional to oversee the stewardship of BHITC’s God-centered brand and provide strategy and direction to its communications efforts. This individual should be creative, organized, collaborative, and a strong writer with a proven ability to work in a team setting and manage multiple processes and projects simultaneously. BHITC’s communications department functions like an internal public relations agency. Communications counsel and support is provided to four internal ministry departments while also supporting organization-wide communications activities to external partners and stakeholders. Experience in managing social media and email marketing platforms, as well as external contractors to produce creative content are key. Experience in the following programs is preferred:  Canva, Adobe, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, InDesign and basic website editing tools. High level of professionalism and confidentiality required. Growing spiritually and a commitment to deepening their walk with the Lord.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide marketing and brand strategy, as well as develop communications content to support organizational goals and departmental program needs that result in a stronger presence and identity for BHITC, its mission and its impact across all communications channels.
  • Oversee tailored, effective content delivery across all online and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, that support objectives related to viewer engagement and calls to action.
  • Manage the development and production of the following:
    • two highly engaging print magazine-style newsletters per year, as well as other print collateral (flyers, postcards, etc.) as needed or requested.
    • monthly e-newsletters, as well as other additional periodic e-blast communications.
    • organizational websites that are compelling, accessible and accurate, either through in-house editing programs or professional contractors.
    • text messaging platforms.
  • Expand and maintain libraries of photography, videos and graphic design projects that support the consistent creation of high-quality content, using in-house equipment and editing programs to do so, or managing the efforts and budgets of professional contractors.
  • Being physically present and engaged alongside program staff, volunteers and people being served by the organization at one or more BHITC locations weekly as a means of discovering and telling stories of organizational impact and personal/community transformation.
  • Attending and contributing to Administration Department meetings and planning sessions.
  • Partnering with Development & Communications Project Manager to ensure all communications projects remain on-time, on-message and on-budget.
  • Assisting to shape and manage the efforts of a part-time Marketing Specialist to best achieve communications needs, project and goals.
  • Attending and supporting organizational events related to specific programs, volunteers and fundraising plans as a means of added support, as directed.
  • Other duties, as needed and assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising and/or communications.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills; enjoys multi-tasking.
  • Exceptionally persuasive writing and content-creation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Proficient in Word processing.
  • Ability to travel, access to a vehicle.
  • Alignment with and passion for BHITC’s mission, vision and values.
