Under the direction of the Regional Business Development Director, you will combine technical engineering expertise with business acumen to identify new market opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and promote the company’s technical solutions in the designated territory. You will identify potential customer segments, establish relationships with clients, and achieve sales targets to ensure Systemair meets the region’s demands and expectations. This role is vital in bridging the gap between technical teams and business development strategies while communicating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
  • Analyze competitor products and services to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas of differentiation.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings.
  • Identify potential customers and understand their technical and business needs through networking, cold calling, presentations, and referrals.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Set and track sales account targets aligned with Systemair objectives.
  • Report on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales results.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to management, outlining achieved goals and the necessary actions for maintaining and growing the customer base.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop territorial promotional activities and materials.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer satisfaction.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to generate new business leads and enhance the company’s presence in the market.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, demands, and competitive landscapes, adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Provide customer feedback to the product development teams.
  • Suggest new products or enhancements based on market demands and customer feedback.

Skills, Education, and/or Experience

The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate the suitability of the Regional Director of Sales – Distribution Profile or candidates for the position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a sales engineering or business development role, HVAC industry preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Ability to create and deliver technical presentations tailored to the audience’s needs.
  • Strong understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft 365.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Job Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer.
  • Light physical effort – able to lift up to 20lbs at times.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum or 50% to meet to meet regional needs.

Work Environment

  • Office Environment of in the Field (territory). At times, in Factory, Warehouse, and/or Distribution Center.
  • May incur frequent travel via car within a given territory.
