Essential Functions

Performs a range of procedures in a BSL2 laboratory to support virology and serological assays Perform viral transfections, virus titrations, and routine cell culture.

Performs functional serological assays including but not limited to neutralization and receptor binding/inhibition ELISA.

Perform reagent preparation, routine cell culture and participate in new assay development and preclinical testing utilizing aseptic techniques.

Propagation and development of pseudovirus, reverse genetics and wild-type viruses and development-related assays.

Stable cell line generation, cloning, PCR, and mutagenesis

Keep accurate documentation and analyze data

Participate in meetings to discuss literature and ongoing work.

Ability to work independently with supervision

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have cell culture experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in research, pharmaceutical and/or vaccine development field.

Basic background knowledge of chemistry, biology, virology and immunology

Proficiency or familiarity in Microsoft Office, SoftMax, and GraphPad Prism

Clear and concise communication skills

Attention to details and accurate record keeping

Team player with ability to work cross-functionally

Molecular genetics and molecular virology experience, a plus

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

B.S. or M.S. in Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Genetics or related field. •
