Job Summary and QualificationsThe Performance Improvement/Risk Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Patient Safety Director (PSD). The PI/Risk Coordinator is responsible for organizing systematic activities that are implemented to monitor, assess and improve the quality of the patient care provided at LSMC. Duties include: compiling, analyzing and coordinating the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes, Patient Safety Initiatives, and mandatory reporting, compliance and process. Provides assistance to the Medical staff and all hospital departments in implementing and sustaining their performance improvement processes. Performs a variety of technical and specialized tasks involved with the current and retrospective evaluation of patient care. Assist the PSD to ensure that patient concerns/ complaints /grievances receive immediate communication and/or attention and follow-up is handled appropriately for maximum patient satisfaction. Collaborates with the PSD and department leaders to ensure resolution of each incident. Assists with responding to and follow up with the patient for all grievances, keeping in compliance with TJC and CMS standards.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Missouri RN lisc
- Three years board based nursing experience required
- Familiar with standards of care for all age groups.
- Strong broad-based clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology.
- Prior experience in performance improvement activities related to health care preferred.
- Working knowledge of core measures preferred.
- Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents.
- Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, or other spreadsheet and database programs and project management.
- Ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment.
