Job Description

The systems engineering focus is support to unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The successful candidate must be able to develop requirements, create system design documentation, utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, and plan and conduct tests to validate requirements. This role involves true cradle to grave systems, engaging in all project phases from definition, design, to test. Responsibilities include analyzing customer/stakeholder requirements, decomposing and deriving requirements, and allocating them to system and subsystem elements. The candidate will develop system architecture for new and existing systems, conduct trade studies, perform design research, develop test plans and reports, create test cases based on requirements documentation, and develop system/subsystem interface definitions, schematics, and design documentation. Leading and conducting testing as applicable, working in adherence to structured and defined development processes, and collaborating with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements are also key tasks. The role involves participating in the planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex, engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 24 Month(s).
Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Arlington, Texas.
Work Environment

Preferred locations are Round Rock or Sacramento. They are also open to Oklahoma City (OKC) or Dallas. In Dallas, strong software and hardware test experience is required to support the embedded development teams. The work environment includes both production and traditional facilities, as well as a SCIF facility. Travel: 25% of the time, especially if located in Austin or Arlington, up to 2 weeks at a time. Travel destinations include California (Antelope Valley area), Sacramento, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and potentially Alabama.
