Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to define and analyze intricate systems using SysML.
  • Creating SysML models that emphasize system decomposition, functionality, interfaces, and performance metrics.
  • Evaluating customer and stakeholder requirements, breaking them down, deriving new requirements, and allocating them to system and subsystem components.
  • Advancing the application of MBSE within assigned design teams and across the enterprise.
  • Formulating system-level concepts of operation (ConOps) and performing functional analysis to align with end-user needs through MBSE methodologies.
  • Developing operational models compliant with OMG UML Unified Profile for DoDAF/MoDAF (UPDM).
  • Designing system architecture for both new and existing systems.
  • Conducting trade studies and engineering research to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.
  • Creating test plans and reports, as well as developing test cases based on requirements documentation.
  • Defining system/subsystem interfaces, creating system schematics, and preparing system design documentation.
  • Leading and executing testing as necessary.
  • Adhering to structured development processes.
  • Engaging in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered systems and software to ensure compliance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Performing peer reviews of team members' contributions.
  • Reporting project and task status to the project lead.
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals and presentation materials.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience with SysML.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in developing models using No Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler or similar tools.
  • Possession of a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or the capability to obtain one.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing system-level models, requirements, and architecture in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-directed work ethic.
  • Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes, including requirements development and validation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain productive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Experience in the Defense and/or Aerospace sectors is essential.
  • Background in aircraft systems is required; experience with unmanned aircraft is advantageous.
