The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to analyze and articulate complex systems through SysML.
  • Creating SysML models that emphasize system decomposition, functions, interfaces, and performance metrics.
  • Interpreting customer and stakeholder requirements, breaking them down, deriving new requirements, and allocating them to system and subsystem components.
  • Advancing the application of MBSE within assigned design teams and across the organization.
  • Developing comprehensive operational concepts and performing functional analyses to fulfill end-user requirements using MBSE methodologies.
  • Constructing operational models in accordance with the OMG UML Unified Profile for DoDAF/MoDAF (UPDM).
  • Designing system architectures for both new and existing systems.
  • Conducting trade studies and engineering research to optimize requirements and system architecture.
  • Formulating test plans and reports while creating test cases based on documented requirements.
  • Establishing system and subsystem interface definitions, schematics, and design documentation.
  • Leading testing efforts as necessary.
  • Adhering to structured development processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engaging in the planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered systems and software to ensure compliance with functional specifications.
  • Conducting peer reviews of team members' contributions.
  • Reporting on project and task progress to the project lead.
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals and presentation materials.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience with SysML.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in developing models using No Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler or similar tools.
  • A U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing system-level models, requirements, and architecture in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-directed work ethic.
  • Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes, including requirements development and validation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and effective communication.
  • Ability to foster and maintain productive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Experience in the Defense and/or Aerospace industry is essential.
  • Experience with aircraft systems is required; experience with unmanned aircraft is a plus.
