Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Patent or Intellectual Property Associate who will play a pivotal role in an Intellectual Property practice, assisting clients with patent prosecution, patent litigation, and other IP-related matters. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, in navigating complex legal issues in the field of intellectual property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patentability searches and analyze prior art.
- Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
- Assist in patent prosecution before the USPTO.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on intellectual property issues.
- Assist in intellectual property litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Counsel clients on intellectual property strategies and portfolio management.
- Negotiate and draft licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other IP-related contracts.
- Stay updated on developments in patent law and intellectual property trends.
- Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and support staff to deliver comprehensive client service.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have experience working at an Am 200 Firm.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar.
- 3+ years of experience in patent prosecution and/or intellectual property litigation.
- Candidates should possess a technical background, preferably in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, for patent and other intellectual property litigation practice.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and building strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
