Pay Range: $78 - $88/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- RNA/DNA isolation from various tissues/cells from human, non-human primate, and rodents.
- Targeted gene expression profiling using NanoString or other RT-qPCR systems.
- Library prep and QC of samples for use with NGS platforms.
- NGS sequencing Illumina MiSeq and Novaseq platforms.
- Presenting relevant data and results.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Education: B.S/B.A/M.S/PHD in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology.
- B.S/B.S with minimum 7+ years; Masters with 5+ years'; PHD with only 3-4 years' of relevant work experience in industry or academia.
- Knowledge in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
- Experience with RNA/DNA QC platforms such as the Fragment analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer or Tapestation.
- Experience with RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
- Familiarity with NGS platforms, specifically Illumina MiSeq and Novaseq.
- Familiarity with NGS data QC and analysis workflows
- Must be able to work up and troubleshoot new protocol methods centric to NGS platforms.
- Must have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Must have good organization and time management skills.
- Experience with liquid automation for sample RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library prep.
- Experience with multi-omics NGS platforms, low sorted cell populations, and/or single-cell RNAseq.
- Experience with NGS analysis data visualization software such as Cell Ranger or BioTuring.
- Familiarity with computer software: Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, Geneious.
