We are on the hunt for a driven, detail-oriented Retail Buyer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical role in the procurement process, making strategic buying decisions that will directly impact the success of our retail operations. You will be responsible for the selection and procurement of merchandise, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts and prices, all while ensuring optimal cost reduction. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced, exciting environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective negotiation strategies to drive cost reduction and maximize profitability.
  2. Manage the entire procurement process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  3. Conduct market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
  4. Collaborate with warehouse management to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of merchandise.
  5. Work closely with the operations management team to align purchasing decisions with operational needs and goals.
  6. Oversee demand planning and production planning to ensure stock levels are maintained and inventory turnover is optimized.
  7. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  8. Analyze sales and customer demand to forecast future buying trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  9. Coordinate with freight companies to manage the transportation of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  10. Continually review and improve purchasing processes and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in negotiation, production planning, warehouse management, demand planning, procurement, purchasing, freight, supplier, operations management, vendors, receiving, and cost reduction.
  2. Proven track record of successful negotiation and supplier management.
  3. Strong knowledge of retail buying, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  5. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  6. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including inventory management and procurement systems.
  7. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
