Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Buying Admin in the retail industry, located in El Segundo, California. The role involves managing administrative tasks, tracking orders, and maintaining vendor relations, which are vital for the smooth communication across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating with vendors and internal teams to gather information for item setup, including Style Number, Description, Cost, Retail, UPC Codes, and Compliance
• Regular monitoring and updating of the status of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery to the distribution center
• Handling vendor-related issues such as shipment discrepancies
• Assisting with price changes and markdowns by managing spreadsheets, collecting approvals, and entering data into the pricing system
• Drafting memos to stores regarding new products, programs, and updates
• Coordinating the return process, including obtaining RA numbers and shipping details from vendors
• Managing online product attributes and flags for e-commerce updates
• Addressing store requests for special orders, pricing, and part requests
• Scheduling and reserving sample rooms for Buyer meetings with vendors
• Researching and resolving price and freight discrepancies, making necessary adjustments
• Running reports based on Buyer needs, exporting data, and maintaining accurate inventory and sales updates
• Completing and managing special arrangement sheets for vendor rebates and other agreements, ensuring proper documentation.• Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Previous experience in a retail buying or administrative role is a plus
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team structure
• Must have a customer-focused mindset
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of retail market dynamics and consumer buying behaviors
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
